How Cool is the Design of this New Bridge? We can influence a new cool bridge or we can stay home and take what we get. Exciting developments are underway along Montrose Boulevard! The Montrose Boulevard Improvement Project is enhancing pedestrian safety and connectivity by constructing a new pedestrian bridge over Allen Parkway. This bridge will provide a safe and accessible link between Montrose and Buffalo Bayou Park, encouraging more walking and cycling in the area. The project also includes improved drainage systems and tree preservation efforts, ensuring that the boulevard remains a vibrant and sustainable corridor for all. With construction expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2026, the new pedestrian bridge is set to become a key feature in Houston's urban landscape, fostering greater community engagement and mobility.
Great job landing this one HPARD! This one is a huge wow. Read about it here.
Public art in parks isn’t just about adding color; it’s about transforming spaces into dynamic, living canvases that inspire creativity and spark connection. These artistic installations turn ordinary parks into vibrant cultural hubs, where people of all ages come together to engage, reflect, and celebrate local identity. Imagine strolling through a park where every sculpture, mural, or installation tells a story, connects you to nature, and encourages conversations. It’s not just visually stunning—it’s an experience that boosts mental well-being, fosters community pride, and makes every visit to the park feel like an adventure.
Public art truly transforms our parks into places of imagination, inspiration, and unforgettable moments.

Rededicated by Mayor Whitmire – April 19, 2025. We added two words to the name: Officer & Memorial. Thanks for Joining Us to rededicate the ballfield and meet the lovely Hearn family on "Tim Hearn Day" in Houston.
$777 raised so far of $1500 needed. We have pledged to replace the aging 20-year-old ballfield sign with one that tells the the story of Tim's sacrifice. Donations are tax deductible. Please chip in today to help us with this important project. Our Mayor offered a touching tribute to his friend in April. The Hearn family & HPARD have helped design it -and the Hearns love it!
